Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan as MP?
This can happen only in India. Rumours are flying high and thick on the blogosphere and it could happen.
Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan leaving glam roles for good and is joining politics.
The reasons attributed could be social work and help the needy. Listen, the general elections are round the corner and is likely to be held during April-May 2009.
Aishawarya need not look any further. All are in the family. Her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan was a one-time MP, her mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan is an MP.
Samajwadi Party led by Mulayam Singh is likely to be the obvious choice. Its general secretary Amar Singh is a family friend. Amar has already roped in Sanjay Dutt and has declared that Sanjay will stand from the prestigious Lucknow seat which is currently being represented by former Prime Minister A. B. Vajpayee. If Aishwarya becomes an MP, she will have Jaya Prada as company.
So here is wishing Aishwarya all the very best, whether she plans to enter politics or dismisses the whole news sans a wink or decides to stick to tinsel town. But we would like her to come out in open and fire at the rumours.
